A brick patio or walkway is a good way to enhance the beauty of your house. Other than gray concrete slabs they will give a good look to your house. But you should be highly careful not to let the pavement from collapsing. During building and pest inspection sydney building inspectors suggest a few steps to follow so that the pavement will be perfect. The whole process may take about five days to finish. First of all take care to dig deep. You are suggested to begin with a six inch deep excavation. Also, it is important to make sure that the excavation slopes gently away from your house so that puddles will not pool on the finished patio. As the next step, you may pack the soil. The hole is to be edged with rigid plastic or rot resistant wood and after that you may add four inches of crushed stone. Also, if you do not pack the soil and stone tightly, it may settle. Weeds should be kept out and in order to keep the pesky weeds out, overlapping strips of landscape fabric will be helpful. Next, with an inch or two of hard- packed stone dust, you should top the stone and the fabric. It is very much important that you should choose a better brick. There are hard baked bricks available in the market which is designed for paving. You could check it by tapping it with hammer. And now, you may choose your favorite pattern and be creative in it. As the final step you could butt the bricks and after the bricks are laid, in order to fill in any cracks you could sweep stone dust.
